The Legend of the Poufre
Long ago, a giant octopus terrorized the fishermen of Sète.
One fisherman, braver than the others, dared to approach the creature.
The Poufre revealed that it sought neither wealth nor revenge—it simply wished for a ray of sunlight to brighten the darkness of the ocean depths.
For seven years, the fisherman offered the creature a single ray of the sun.
But when only one ray remained, he realized the sun itself could not disappear.
He took the final ray and drove it into the Poufre's eye, saving the light of the world.
Since that day, the sun has continued to shine above the sea.
