Forged like a forgotten fragment of coastline shaped by the tides, SHIOMI feels as though it was slowly transformed by salt, currents, and time.
Its blackened silver evokes an ancient structure worn away by the ocean.
The natural pearls appear attached to the material like marine concretions or shells clinging to dark rock battered by waves.
SHIOMI ( 潮見 ) means “to watch the tides.”
A name inspired by the traces left behind by the sea, the slow movement of water, and the silent marks abandoned on the shore after storms.
Imagined as a contemporary marine relic, this bracelet blends Japanese folklore, coastal aesthetics, and the dark universe of the MABUI collection.
The bracelet is entirely handcrafted in oxidized 925 sterling silver and laser engraved by hand.
Its organic and irregular textures recall the eroded surfaces of objects recovered after years beneath the ocean.
The natural pearls seem absorbed into the silver rather than simply set into it, reinforcing the living, organic aspect of the piece.
Each SHIOMI is unique.
Variations in oxidation, engraving, and the natural tones of the pearls make every bracelet one of a kind.
The oxidation is a surface treatment intentionally designed to evolve over time.
With wear, friction, and use, the patina will naturally change and gradually reveal new tones across the silver.
This evolution is part of the MABUI collection philosophy:
objects marked by time, memory, and the elements.
