Forged like a relic forgotten beneath the ocean, NAMIDA feels as though it drifted for years through currents, salt, and storms before returning to the surface.
Its blackened silver evokes an ancient fragment worn away by the sea.
The large baroque pearl appears almost alive, like a frozen tear shaped by the ocean itself.
NAMIDA ( 涙 ) means “tear” in Japanese.
A name chosen for this one-of-a-kind piece whose silhouette recalls a drop born from the depths, carrying memory, melancholy, and silence.
Imagined as a contemplative marine relic, this brooch blends Japanese folklore, coastal aesthetics, and the dark universe of the MABUI collection.
The piece is entirely handcrafted in oxidized 925 sterling silver and laser engraved by hand.
Its organic and irregular textures recall the eroded surfaces of objects lost beneath the sea for decades.
The natural baroque pearl does not appear simply set into the metal:
it seems fused with it, like a nacreous formation slowly created beneath the ocean.
This brooch is a one-of-a-kind piece.
The brooch measures approximately 5 x 2 cm.
The natural variations of the pearl, the textures, and the oxidation tones make this piece completely unique.
The oxidation is a surface treatment intentionally designed to evolve over time.
With wear, friction, and use, the patina will naturally change and gradually reveal new tones across the silver.
This evolution is part of the MABUI collection philosophy:
objects marked by time, memory, and the elements.
