KAIGEN - Oxidized 925 Sterling Silver Necklace with Natural Pearls - Marine Relic Inspired by Japanese Folklore

Forged like a fragment of a submerged stela brought back from the depths, KAIGEN feels as though it drifted for years through currents, salt, and storms before returning to the surface.

Its blackened silver evokes ancient metal worn away by the ocean.
The natural pearls appear to emerge directly from the material itself, like nacreous formations slowly created beneath the sea over time.

KAIGEN ( 海源 ) means “the origin of the sea.”
A name that evokes something ancient, sacred, and forgotten — like a relic taken from a drowned sanctuary.

Imagined as a marine talisman, this necklace blends Japanese folklore, coastal aesthetics, and the dark universe of the MABUI collection.

The pendant is entirely handcrafted in oxidized 925 sterling silver and laser engraved by hand.
Its organic and irregular textures recall the corroded surfaces of objects recovered after years beneath the ocean.

The natural pearls seem absorbed into the silver rather than simply set into it, reinforcing the living, organic aspect of the piece.

The pendant measures approximately 4 x 1.5 cm and weighs around 16 g.

The necklace is mounted on an adjustable black waxed cotton cord finished with natural pearls at each end.

Each KAIGEN is unique.
Variations in oxidation, engraving, and the natural tones of the pearls make every piece one of a kind.

The oxidation is a surface treatment intentionally designed to evolve over time.
With wear, friction, and use, the patina will naturally change and gradually reveal new tones across the silver.
