UKIYO - Oxidized 925 Sterling Silver Earring with Skull Carved Pearl - Marine Relic Inspired by Japanese Folklore

Forged like a relic drifting through storms and ocean currents, UKIYO feels as though it was forgotten beneath the sea before slowly returning to the surface.

Its blackened silver evokes metal marked by salt and tides.
The skull-carved pearl appears polished by the depths, like a human remnant transformed by the ocean itself.

UKIYO ( 浮世 ) means “the floating world.”
A Japanese concept associated with impermanence, wandering souls, moving waves, and the fleeting beauty of suspended moments.

Imagined as a contemplative marine relic, this earring blends Japanese folklore, coastal aesthetics, and the dark universe of the MABUI collection.

The piece is composed of:
— a 14 mm sterling silver hoop
— a 9 x 7 mm skull-carved pearl
— a 5 x 20 mm oxidized sterling silver plate with laser engraving

Each piece is entirely handmade.

The organic textures, oxidation variations, and natural tones of every pearl make each UKIYO completely unique.

The oxidation is a surface treatment intentionally designed to evolve over time.
With wear, friction, and use, the patina will naturally change and gradually reveal new tones across the silver.
