In Alpine folklore, the name MALGRIM refers to the silent watcher — neither good nor evil, only wild.
This blackened sterling silver earring pays homage to that fierce creature: a small demon’s head, hand-sculpted with deep shadows and raw, rugged texture.

The 14 mm hoop holds a pendant measuring approximately 3.5 cm, for a total weight of 4.66 g.
Each piece is entirely crafted by hand, fire-patinated and surface-blackened to achieve that volcanic, shadowed finish that defines Maison Escalas / Le Baron Samedi.

The blackened effect is not paint.
It is a handcrafted surface treatment applied to sterling silver, creating a dark patina inside the recesses and textures.

Over time — with friction, small impacts, and everyday wear — the raised areas will naturally become shinier as the silver reappears.
This evolution is intentional, alive, and gives the jewel its own personality:
